Former member of Congress

Henry A. Waxman

Rep. for CA-33, Democrat, in the 113th Congress (2013–2014).

No longer in Congress. This page shows their record in the past Congresses on this site, with the seat and party they held then.

Time in office

Every stretch of service in Congress, from the congress-legislators records. Vote counts on this site begin in 2013, so service before then has dates but no scores.

Office	Seat	Party	From	To	Congresses
U.S. House, California	CA-24, CA-29, CA-30, CA-33	Democrat	Jan. 14, 1975	Jan. 3, 2015	94th–113th

Voting record by President

All the votes on this site from their time in office, added up under the President in office on the day of each vote. One President's figures are never combined with another's, and Trump's two terms are separate. A new President can take office partway through a Congress, so these can differ slightly from a Congress's own figures.

President	Congresses	Votes with the President	Party loyalty	Missed votes
Barack Obama (2009–2017)	113th	96% (118 of 123)	97% (770 of 791)	7% (84 of 1,201)

Every Congress

Each row is that Congress alone, and the President score is for the President of that time. Missed votes are left out of both scores.

Congress	Seat	Party	Party loyalty	Votes with the President	Missed votes
113th Congress (2013–2014)	House CA-33	Democrat	97%	Obama: 96%	7%

Where they broke ranks, 113th Congress

Votes where they went against most of their party on a vote that split the parties (21), or against the position President Obama took publicly before the vote (5).
